For years I have enjoyed Ben Stein's conservative views, but today on Sunday Morning, he recited a speech that he would have written for President Bush. In short... cut and run.

His premise is that by doing this everyone will come together. He is out of his mind. Liberals HATE George Bush. Not because of his politics either. They should love him. He rarely vetoes legislation, spends money like a drunken Democrat (sorry, Teddy!) and want illegals made citizens. In fact, the only places he disagrees with them is lower taxes and the war on terror.

Being in Iraq has not created more terrorists. Look at Germany who did not support us in going there. They are having problems as is France who also did not support us. So we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. So I say DO!

Ben, get a grip. Come back from the DARK SIDE!!!

Republicans are worried about losing seats in the fall. I say, "who cares?" They have done nothing with their majority in the house and senate other than to spend more money! And it's not all going to defense like the idiot lefties would have you believe.

What kills me is that this program costs $2 million to implement and then they talk about "free rides". What's FREE about $2 million? It may not come directly from my pocket to the trasportation companies and is free that way, but it sure comes in from TAXES. And you know that $4 million in taxes probably results in only $2 million getting to the programs because of the people needed to manage the program!!! I really don't see how getting some people out of their cars for one day really goes to helping the environment anyway. What's 3-5 days a year compared to the other 360? Again, it is symbolism over real substance.

It's a vain gesture a lot like those bumper stickers which seem to scream, "I care more than you do because I plastered my car with bumper stickers!" "Free Tibet" right next to the "No War On Iraq" sticker. First of all, we not at war ON Iraq, we freed Iraq and are fighting FOR them. Second of all, how you gonna free Tibet without the military action you so vehemently oppose? But it's a nice gesture!!! Besides, bumper stickers are probably the only thing holding those rusted Volvos together anyway.

If you don't believe me, remember she lives in Northern California near San Francisco where a Democrat Mayor is almost too conservative for the voters! And look around at the other representatives from this area: Diane Feinstein, Lynn Woolsey, Nancy Pelosi, Zoe Lofgren, Barbara Lee, Ellen Tauscher... Except for Lofgren and Lee, they all look like clones of each other... escapees from the Botox clinic!

One thing I want to know... where is all of Boxer's moral authority coming from? Certainly everyone hasn't forgotten the banking scandal she was involved in years ago? Kiting checks is a serious offense... unless you're above the law!

So, Barbara, shut the hell up and retire already!!!!!!

Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ)

That's the name of the joint, and also the name of the problem I have. For years I've had the following symptoms:

Ear pain
Sore jaw muscles
Temple/cheek pain
Frequent head/neck aches

I thought it was just high taxes getting to me. And I knew it couldn't be those damn Democrats since I was one of them only several years ago though they do irritate me).

Turns out it is a dental problem where the person's bite is off. To solve it requires a very expensive procedure where the mouth is pretty much rebuilt. Crowns and bridges are all redone so that only the front teeth are not affected (unless they need repairs of some sort) mainly because all the chewing is done by the back teeth.

So after much deliberation, I decided to go ahead and take care of this once and for all... boy, what a big deal. The teeth are prepared tops one day and bottoms the second. The total visit is 6-8 hours. If a dentist tells you anything less than that, don't believe them. Mine tried to tell me it would be about 4 hours for 2 days, and it was 6 the first and 8 the next.

When I left that second day, he had stirred up so much decay that was under my old crowns, that I got sick and was in bed for almost a week (that's my diagnosis, not his!). I was stuck with eating soft foods and soups. There was also a lot of pain associated with this procedure which continues today, a little over 2 weeks later.

I am told this will not be forever. I do still have temporary bridge work in place. And there may still be several root canals that need to be done (1 was done about a week ago) since the decay was pretty close to the nerve under those nasty old crowns.

Such is a day in the life of a baby-buster who used to believe in sex, drugs and rock and roll. Alcohol didn't help either. But let's talk about recovery another time!

After all, the media news people can create new terms like "uber-sexual", "metro-sexual", "drive-by-media" (thanks, Rush), and so on, why not me? I'm kind of proud that I thought it up. I get sick of watching television commercials and listening to politicians tell me I'm part of a special generation, then talk about or show pictures of our antics in the 60's thinking that this is what defines us all. Well, not me!

After 9/11/2001 everywhere I went I saw American Flags and people were wearing flag lapel pins. There was a lot of proud people out there, even in Northern California. But now in 2006, it's become popular to bash Bush again and trot out the old liberal playbook that was used for Viet Nam, hoping to take us back to that place in time.

Argh, I was poor, selfish and stupid. Why would I ever go back to that??? Or even want to ? although I have friends who wax nostalgic at those "good old days", I am not stuck in the 60's. I love my life today. Over time, I will explain what events changed me.

The other day I was watching our television and happened to end up on a channel with Kathy Griffin. After starting off pretty funny, the show started to go downhill as she prepared for a trip to entertain the troops in Iraq. While I applaud what she is doing, I found her comments about Bush and the war to be much like I heard about Viet Nam. What she seems to forget is... in the Viet Nam war, there was a draft. I didn't believe in it then, and I don't believe in it now. But these special guys and gals are proud and brave volunteers!!! They went because they wanted to protect and serve!!!

And Kathy Griffin wants to be voted off the Hollywood D list. I have 2 questions for you, Kathy. Who the hell are you anyway? And is there anything lower than a D list we can put you on?

I know you have made spot appearances on various television shows and probably some really bad movies (IMBd has you listed quite a few times... but the only place most people will recognize you is from your 2 Seinfeld appearances.)

But I digress. I resign from the Baby Boom generation! Join me, won't you?

Nancy Pelosi's plan? WHAT PLAN!!!

With the country's security at stake, citizens angry about illegal aliens and our open borders, and other huge issues facing us, Nancy Pelosi (from California... I'm so proud!) announced her big plan Monday, June 12th and was reported in the San Francisco Chronicle. Here it is:

"The Democratic program will consist of bread-and-butter priorities: increasing the minimum wage, cutting costs of prescription drugs, reducing interest rates on student loans, rolling back subsidies for oil companies, and pay-as-you-go budgeting, according to party officials."

Huh? Who asked for any of these things to be fixed? Nobody I know, neither Republican or Democrat! To quote Steve Martin's sarcastic line from his film All of Me, "Ah, good plan!" And she wants to be speaker of the house? I hope it's her own house and that she is soon sent back to the private sector!
